Super AI

Super AI is a hypothetical entity that surpasses human intelligence in all aspects. It would be smarter, more innovative, and capable than the brightest humans. Although still mere speculation, it raises significant moral issues.

Example of Superintelligent AI (Theoretical):

A machine that could design its own advanced algorithms, predict and solve world issues, and potentially innovate beyond human understanding. Such AI would fundamentally alter the way we interact with the world.

AI Based on Functionality

Another classification of AI can be made according to its functioning and learning characteristics.

Reactive Machines:

These are the simplest form of AI. They respond to stimuli in accordance with preprogramming, without saving memories or adjusting to previous exposures. IBM Deep Blue, Garry Kasparov’s defeating chess-playing machine, is the quintessential one. It would recognize the chess pieces on the board and provide the best responses based on the programming, yet it did not learn from experience.

Limited Memory:

This type of AI can store past experiences and use them to inform future decisions. Self-driving cars, robotics, and even some types of medical diagnosis are good examples. They remember the location of traffic lights, the behaviour of other drivers, and road conditions to navigate safely. However, their memory is limited and typically focused on short-term data.

Theory of Mind:

This refers to AI that can understand that other beings (whether human or AI) have their own beliefs, desires, and intentions. This is a crucial step towards creating AI that can truly interact with humans in a meaningful way. We’re still in the early stages of developing this type of AI.

Self-Awareness:

Self-aware AI would not only be aware of its own existence but also understand its internal states and emotions. This is purely theoretical at this point, and it raises all sorts of philosophical and ethical dilemmas.

Neural networks are machine learning models inspired by the architecture of a human brain. Such networks are arranged in several interconnected processing nodes that will identify patterns and make decisions. They are commonly employed in image and speech recognition.

8. Fuzzy Logic
