The University of South Wales is a public university in Wales, with campuses in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd. It was formed on 11 April 2013 from the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. The Extended Diploma is awarded by Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) – the executive public body of the Scottish Government responsible for accrediting educational awards. The program is a Level 11 program under the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and has 120 credits. This is equivalent to European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 7.
