Exeed College recently hosted a workshop titled “Population, Network, and Samples” aimed at equipping professionals with the essential knowledge and skills required for selecting the right sampling strategy for accurate and representative research findings. The workshop was an opportunity for participants to learn from Dr Muhammad Azeem, a distinguished speaker with a PhD in Business Management and an MA in Economics. Dr. Azeem is a senior lecturer and course manager for the School of Business at the University of Bolton. He has extensive knowledge and experience in Research Studies. Dr. Rekha Shewakramani, Faculty and Course Leader of Exeed College hosted this workshop.
The workshop covered a wide range of topics to enrich participants’ understanding of sampling methods, including discussions on the rationale for sampling, types of research questions that guide sampling decisions, sample and population dynamics, sampling error and bias, determining the appropriate sample size, the sampling process, various sampling strategies (such as simple random sampling, systematic random sampling, stratified random sampling, cluster sampling, area sampling, double sampling), non-probability sampling, hidden populations, and the importance of validity and reliability in research.
Prior to the presentation, participants were encouraged to share their areas of interest, fostering a collaborative and tailored learning experience. The session culminated with an interactive Q&A session, where participants had the chance to seek clarifications and deepen their understanding of the presented concepts. Participants were also given activities to further enhance their understanding and apply the concepts discussed during the workshop.
“The engaging and informative session provided valuable insights that will undoubtedly benefit participants in their future research endeavours,” said Dr Vivek Mohan, Dean of Exeed College.
Exeed College is committed to providing the highest quality education to its students and professionals seeking to enhance their skill sets.
