Module Description

The objective of this course is to familiarize learners with the frameworks, tools, and concepts they need for analyzing and understanding the sources of superior firm performance and profitable growth. The content will cover both business-level and corporate-level strategy development and implementation. The discussions of competitive analysis will first focus on understanding and analyzing the environment the firm competes within, the resources and capabilities of the firm, and finally, strategies that allow the firm to develop a sustainable competitive advantage in that environment. Later in the course, the discussion will move on to corporate strategy analysis, which focuses on issues specific to multi-business and multi-location firms. Here, the course will address fundamental questions relating to whether to integrate vertically, which businesses one shall invest in, how to allocate resources among these businesses and how being in these businesses create synergy that adds to the competitive advantage of the corporation.

Management Accounting and Finance for Managers

Module description

This postgraduate course in management accounting begins with a review of accounting principles. Students acquire knowledge about the corporation as an accounting entity, the process of accounting that underpins accountability for the corporation’s resources and transactions. They acquire skills in using corporate financial statements and analyzing the current and future financial position and performance of the accounting entity. Students learn how to apply the Balanced Scorecard/Strategy Map approach to a start-up project of their choice. They learn how to use sensitivity (CVP) and scenario analysis (best case /worst case /most likely case) to better understand the financial implications of management decisions.

Module description

Change is an integral part of our lives, we need to accompany these changes so that we can move in the right direction in the most efficient way possible. In the corporate world, the task is even more complex because it is a collective process, so the agents of change will have to use their leadership skills to reach the expected target. The objective of this course is therefore to revisit the concept of leadership in the context of supporting organizational and individual changes. This course will cover the following two themes:

Human Resources & Diversity Management

Module description

The course will teach the participants to build an optimal performance climate by effective management of human resources. It will feature six major chapters: motivation, feedback, performance management, managing learning and development of employees, recruitment and diversity management. Students will learn : -how to recruit future employees; -how to motivate and engage employees for maximising individual and team performance; -how to assess and enhance performance of employees; -how to manage team dynamics; -how to give and receive feed-back and use it as a tool to build optimal operational climate in teams; -how to manage differences and turn diversity into an advantage. Human Resources and Diversity Management course features a blend of theory and actionable learning. Participants will acquire skill-sets and best practices in managing human resources by going through series of experiential exercises and case studies designed to grow their skills and enhance their managerial efficiency.

Module description

The Marketing course covers the fundamental principles of strategic and operational marketing. After presenting the fundamental concepts of strategic marketing, the course illustrates the elements of the marketing mix (the 4Ps). Thus, the concepts of PRODUCT policy, PRICE policy, DISTRIBUTION policy and COMMUNICATION policy are illustrated in details. The course also presents new marketing trends and their impact on current marketing strategy.

Module description

Since the 90s, Project Management has known an important interest from all types of businesses. Organizations recognize that an effective methodology and a logic and systematic approach enable them to better conduct their projects and optimize their results. An effective Project Management methodology allows firms to effectively allocate human, financial and material resources given the time, cost and quality constraints. The “Project Management Institute” is the reference in this field as it provides the guidelines to follow and the body of knowledge to apply in order to effectively conduct projects. Based on the contributions of the PMBOK®: Project Management Body of Knowledge, this course aims at presenting to the students the general framework and the fundamentals of the project management. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the lifeline of an organization. It needs to be efficient to keep the operations running like a well-oiled machine and to enhance customer relationships. This course aims to present the different functions of the SCM as well as the challenges of an efficient supply chain. We also discuss sourcing and procurement processes and their role in supply chain development.

Module description

This course explores how businesses align ethics, governance, and responsibility with the demands of sustainability. It introduces Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) frameworks, highlighting global standards like the OECD Guidelines and UN Global Compact. Students will examine the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how companies integrate them into strategy to balance social, environmental, and economic objectives. The course covers key tools including ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) frameworks, the circular economy, climate risk management, and global sustainability reporting standards (GRI, SASB/ISSB, CSRD/ESRS). Climate Change and Contemporary Economics Issues

Module description

This course examines the foundational principles of economics – spanning microeconomics, macroeconomics, and organizational economics – through the lens of climate change and sustainability. It is designed to equip MBA students with the tools of economic analysis while demonstrating how climate change is reshaping economic decision-making for consumers, firms, and policymakers. We will begin with core economic concepts and progressively weave in key climate related topics such as carbon pricing, green finance, sustainable business strategy, and climate policy. By exploring these contemporary issues, students will learn how climate change creates new economic challenges and opportunities, from pricing externalities and incentivizing innovation to measuring economic progress beyond GDP. The course emphasizes both business and policy perspectives: students will analyze how businesses can adapt and thrive in a carbon-constrained world, and how economic policy can address climate change. International Business Law

Module description

The International Business Law course is a course aimed at introducing IPAG’s Master degree students to the main legal figures and topics that concern the establishment and the operations of businesses from an international perspective. Although it is not addressed to students with prior legal background, it is a law course and as such it does require from students to make the effort to integrate the proper legal language and knowledge. The course has been devised as an introduction to business law for non-lawyers. It is premised on the idea that the law is a key part in the life of every business and that it has a role at all levels inside a company. The law is not and should not be seen as the exclusive domain of work for internal and external legal counsel but as a field that connects to others at multiple levels. Accordingly, a basic understanding of the law applying to business is beneficial for all members of staff, from entry levels to top executives.

Module description

This course intends to give a practical introduction to the domain of Data Science . As such the content will be project based and adaptive with a focus on the most common quantitative and analytics methods. We will introduce this methods broadly, to achieve an overview of the currently applied methods. This includes reflecting on our datasets, problem formulation, data preparation, analysis, visulation and, finally, using this data in the context of decision support.
